We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note.
In the beer world, there are guidelines (called styles) that dictate what a beer should taste like. Witbiers are like this, pale ales are like that, etc. They let you know what to expect. Dogfish Head knows no styles. Positive Contact is positive proof of that. Part of their music collaboration series, a subject too in-depth to get into here (seriously, it’s layered), this beer isn’t fully a beer, it’s a hybrid. Part cider and part beer, it’s full of fruit and zest and spice (it’s made with farro, cilantro and cayenne pepper), but also a vibrant, highly carbonated base of beer that might be a saison, but who the hell knows? What we DO know is that it’s crazy refreshing and should be a regular summer brew. Positive Contact is available at Fox and House, Tria and South Philly Tap Room.
