Philly Beer Week, the citywide celebration of suds we wait all year for, kicks off May 30! PW is counting down the days with Eric San Juan's daily spotlight of great craft beers everyone should get to know better.
What’s in a name? In this case, everything. With Peach Porch Lounger, New Belgium’s Lips of Faith series of special one-off ales is launched into a fruity stratosphere so big and bold you’ll be tempted to pour it over a plate of cobbler. This beer is a hazy orange color, and the aroma is like a jar of peach marmalade with a touch of yeasty funk. Loads of peaches in every sip, sweet peaches, tart peaches, funky peaches, sugared peaches, dried peaches. Peaches! This beer is fermented with Brett, adding a musty undercurrent to all that peachy goodness that mixes things up enough ensure this is no one-dimensional fruit bomb. Wild stuff. You’ll only have two chances to try it on draft, though, at New Belgium events being held May 30 at City Tap House and June 1 at Monk’s.
