A framboise is a lambic beer infused with raspberries. In America, the best known is perhaps the heavily sweetened framboise by Lindemans, a sticky brew that has more in common with candy than it does beer. Boon’s take is closer to the more traditional framboise beers served in Belgium, a bubbly, sour brew with a refreshingly tart snap in the finish. The aroma is loaded with acidic raspberries and tartness, but it’s that first sip that you’ll truly remember. Bright fruits, yeasty funk, and a touch of vinegar and acid all give way to a lovely, clean finish. It exists in a nice middle ground between those sweetened beers and aggressively sour beers. If you enjoy fruit beers, you owe it to yourself to swing by Jose Pistola’s and give this a try.
