Port Brewing Santa's Little Helper 10.5 percent abv.

After so many years on the sleigh, St. Nick needs a little inspiration. Port Brewing is here to assist. This imperial stout has notes of coffee and bittersweet chocolate. $9.95 for 750 ml.

Buffalo Bill's Blueberry Oatmeal Stout 7.5 percent abv

Here's a summer fruit to splash right in old man winter's face. The blueberry flavor plays nicely with hints of coffee. The brain berry is stronger on the nose than the palate, creating a pleasant accent without being too overwhelming. $3.25

Sly Fox Christmas Ale 6.5 percent abv

This beer starts its season as a red ale, then brewmaster Brian O'Reilly makes a "tea" of ginger, nutmeg, clove, allspice and cinnamon. The ginger dries it out nicely. $8.95

Corsendonk Christmas Ale 8.5 percent abv

Orange spice and caramel malt effortlessly dance the Christmas waltz in this strong Belgian Dark Ale. $5.50

Founder's Backwoods Bastard 10.2 percent abv

The Michigan brewery gives their a scotch ale a little Kentucky care. It's definitely not tender, but there's a whole lot to love. They age it in bourbon barrels that results in aromas of sweet bourbon, vanilla and toffee. $5.45

Tsjeeses 10 percent abv

The blessings of the season are found in this pricey Belgian Pale Ale. Enjoy hints of vanilla, apricot and an earthy spiciness. This is a beer that tastes best at room temperature. $11.75 for 11.2 oz
