If one vice is nice, then two vices are twice as nice! Tröegs Brewing Company, out of Harrisburg, Pa., figured their robust oatmeal stout wasn’t quite good enough, so they went ahead and tossed in stupid amounts of locally roasted espresso and Kenyan coffee. You know, just to be sure if the beer (7.5 percent) didn’t knock us on our ass, the caffeine would. The truth is, though, that this is one of the finer aggressive coffee beers out there. It’s coffee forward, to be sure, but the stout all that coffee sits on is a damn good stout, with rich, roasty flavors that form a complex background for the top-shelf coffee this beer uses. Me?
