Wait, $90? What’s going on here? “It’s literally like 10 drinks in one,” says Rum Bar owner and mixologist Adam Kanter. Served in a long ceramic monkey head large enough for 10 drinkers, the tropical potion contains three different juices (pineapple, lemon and lime), two creamy liqueurs (Crème de Banana and Crème de Cacao), orgeat syrup and finally, Blackbeard Spiced rum. Needless to say, it’s also incredibly yummy. Only permitted to parties of four or more, Kanter warns anyone who dares not to share. “They’ll be regretting it later on,” he laughs. One of the newest additions to the bar’s menu—which already boasts 200 varieties of rum—there’s only one other cocktail that Kanter says rivals Colonel Taylor: the Zombie (it has three different rums as opposed to just one). You can judge for yourself during their “Tiki Thursdays,” when they offer all their enticing Polynesian-inspired beverages for dirt-cheap.
