PW's Year of Beer: Sierra Nevada/Ninkasi Double Latte

The craft beer world has been abuzz about Sierra Nevada’s collaboration with 12 different breweries, so for the last few days we’ve been looking at a few of these dozen draft delights. Double Latte pairs the folks at Sierra Nevada up with the brewers at Ninkasi for a beer that describes itself in its name. This is a robust milk stout made with heaps of cold-brewed coffee, a near perfect combination for lovers of coffee beers. Black as night with a frothy tan head, tons of rich roasted coffee dominate every aspect of this beer. This being a milk stout, the body is creamy and smooth, softening the harsh roast of the coffee.  Touches of bitter chocolate kiss the finish. This beer is nothing short of delicious.
