We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at email@example.com.
If you like them sweet and malty, Long Trail’s Double Bag is going to be a treat. At one time this was a brewery-only beer, but thankfully these brewing vets from Vermont decided to show the world one of their secret weapons and release it commercially. Double Bag is a dark amber beer that borders on brown, with a full, creamy tan head. The appearance gives easy clues about the aroma—and yes, as you’d expect, it’s full of sweet caramel malts with just the faintest hint of herbal hops. The aroma doesn’t do the taste justice, however. Glazed donuts, sweet biscuits, chewy caramel, burnt toffee, toasted nuts. Double Bag is as full-flavored as it is full-bodied. If you’re tired of hop bombs or want a beer that goes great with a meal, give Double Bag a whirl at Growlers.
