We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at tips@philadelphiaweekly.com.

If you like them big, if you like them loud, if you like them challenging, you’ve come to the right beer. The folks at Founders are no strangers to making mega beers, and Devil Dancer slips nicely into their portfolio of epic brews. Devil Dancer is dubbed a “Triple IPA,” a category that doesn’t actually exist in an official capacity. No matter. Whatever you call it, just know it’s a beer to drink with care. Coming in at a robust 12 percent ABV and boasting hops enough for an absurd 112 IBUs, this beer knows no compromise. The full body is rich with thick toffee and caramel flavor, but that sweetness is pounded into the dirt with a relentless assault of big, huge hops. They’re gritty and resinous and abrasive, boasting scads of harsh pine and touches of citrus. This beer is absurd (in the best way possible). Get it while you can at Capone’s, The Pour House Exton and Field House.
