We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at email@example.com.
Here’s a beer that is more than meets the eye. Pouring a lovely honey amber with a foamy white head, on sight you’re going to expect an easy drinking ale well suited for a plate of fish and chips. Nope. This New Jersey brewery has a little something different in mind, because this golden ale is creamy, sweet, and loaded with rich coffee flavor. The disconnect between color and flavor will only throw you for a moment, though, because you’ll quickly be unpeeling this brew’s layer. The milky sweetness. The creamy body. The pleasant bitter roast. It tastes like a cup of iced coffee from that national donut place—except this cup of coffee has a whopping 12 percent alcohol by volume. Having a couple of these in the morning would be a bad idea! But do have one when you get a chance. It’s available for a limited time at The Beer Shoppe.
