We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note.

So, you probably can’t get this beer. Why? First of all, it's a blend of Bell’s epic Expedition Stout and their Special Double Cream Stout, both aged in bourbon barrels for about eight months. It’s … wow. Plus, it came out in extremely limited quantities and was sucked down faster than you can say “sucked down.” Yeah, people wanted it that badly. But if you can get it, get it. With a bit of luck and an open eye you might be able to, because some beer bars have wisely held onto their kegs for a later day. Black Note has a huge barrel presence without the bourbon overwhelming it, making for a brew that is layered in so much chocolate, roast, oak, coffee, vanilla, whiskey and cocoa that you won’t know where to begin. Believe the hype. Black Note is currently available, well, nowhere — but watch for tappings, because it’s in Philly! It’s just waiting.
