Jolly’s Dueling Piano Bar (1420 Locust Street) relocated this past week after a little more than one year. Jolly Weldon, namesake and owner of Jolly’s Dueling Piano Bar, announced that his operation had officially shifted to 3801 Chestnut Street, in University City, next door to the Blockley. Weldon’s statement attributes the relocation to a need for more room to accommodate the larger crowds as well as easier and cheaper parking. He added that while his infamous dueling piano show that was rated by Philly Magazine as the #1 Girls’ Night Out spot in Philadelphia has found a new home, it is now complimented by a first class beer and dining program. The new venue features 24 unique American craft beers on tap along with a diverse American dinner menu created by Dayna Russo, of recent Brick fame. Most of the bar’s regular performers will be making the jump as well and there are plans to add expanded entertainment Sundays through Wednesdays. Thursday nights will offer the Penn and Drexel crowds something different while Friday and Saturday nights will be the same rocking piano show for which Jolly has become known. The new spot, which will be known by the new moniker Jolly’s American Beer Bar and Dueling Pianos, has already opened to the public.
