Dogfish Head is known for letting its freak flag fly when it comes to beer, tossing the rules out the window. In the case of Aprihop, however, the freak flag doesn’t actually fly that far. Dogfish took a fairly standard IPA and added a load of apricots. But it's not as fruity as you'd think. Apricot is a natural aroma for many American hop varieties, so rather than coming across as out of place, it blends in perfectly. This is an IPA with all the bold citrus you expect from a modern American IPA, but with just a hint of nice fruit flavor. Fans of 60 Minute and 90 Minute will scoff when I say this, but honestly? It’s the best IPA Dogfish Head brews. Absolutely get this beer fresh, on tap, and NOW before it’s gone, because this beer is only available during the spring season. Aprihop is currently available in a dozen Philly bars, including Lucky’s Last Chance, The Grey Lodge Pub, American Sardine Bar, Pinocchio’s Beer Garden To Go, and 12 Steps Down.
