It's a mad, mad world. Once beloved, King Lear has begun his descent into insanity, dividing his kingdom between his daughters and setting off a series of tragic events. In King Lear's world, it is not only the royals who suffer, but the whole kingdom. Shakespeare in Clark Park brings to life the classic tale of power and madness with a company of Philly's favorite actors including Brian Anthony Wilson and Charlotte Northeast.

This event is presented by the City's Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy as part of Performances in Public Spaces, a summer series of FREE cultural performances in parks and plazas across Philadelphia neighborhoods. From May through October, the annual series brings arts and culture experiences to local outdoor spaces. All Performances in Public Spaces are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required. To find more free Performances in Public Spaces events, visit creativephl.org/pps.
