The Group Motion Friday Night Improvisational Dance Workshop guides a group through a series of movement meditations, improvisational structures, and games to inspire spontaneous self-expression and collective creation.  All of these allow for new and spontaneous explorations of the mind and body in relation to oneself, space, others, and sound. This workshop has been ongoing in Philadelphia for the past 50 years, originated by Brigitta Herrmann and Manfred Fischbeck, artistic directors of Group Motion.

The workshop encourages freedom of movement and relaxation.  We utilize a sense of play, and connection with others. Open to anyone, participants enjoy two hours of continuous dance/movement improvisation, accompanied by live music.  This workshop is the longest running contemporary dance/movement workshop in Philadelphia.

Group Motion conducts annual retreats in special locations outside of Philadelphia.
