Join us for an evening of talk, tentacles, and talent, featuring four original short films from Science Friday and a panel of scientists.

We’re submerging again for Cephalopod Week! Join Science Friday and Atlas Obscura for a total cephalo-party, complete with brews and a crew of amazing scientists to celebrate our favorite undersea creatures.

There’s only one marine animal we want to talk about for eight days—one for each arm! Cephalopod Week is public radio show Science Friday’s annual celebration of these amazing creatures, from the cunning cuttlefish, to the superb squid, to the outstanding octopus. This year, from June 21-28, Atlas Obscura and Science Friday are teaming up to give you a place to celebrate these incredible invertebrates together.

Join us for an evening of talk, tentacles, and talent, featuring four original short films from Science Friday at Johnny Brenda’s. Gather around for Science Friday’s newest and most classic cephalopod short science film documentaries. Following the movies, Elah Feder, host of Undiscovered, will lead a conversation with cuttlefish camouflage expert Dr. Alison Sweeney from the University of Pennsylvania and deep-sea diver Dr. Erik Cordes from Temple University as we explore the biology and ecology of our favorite underwater creatures.
