At 15, Tim McGinnis began his culinary career as a dishwasher, eventually becoming a chef and a graduate of Johnson & Wales University’s culinary school. He fell in love with teaching the trade, and after three years at Center City’s De La Salle School, currently teaches culinary arts at the Milton Hershey School. In addition to cooking, he has always enjoyed writing, and feels fortunate to be able to combine the two in PW’s food section. When not in the chocolaty wilds of Hershey, Tim lives in Graduate Hospital with his wife, Miki. His heroes are line cooks, Spider-Man, and Michael Jack Schmidt, in that order.
