They write their own sketches. They make many of their own costumes and props. They shoot their own videos. They book their own gigs. And, of course, they have day jobs. Aubrie Williams, Shannon Brown, Kaitlin Thompson, Briana Kelly and Madonna Marie Refugia: A year into their existence as a troupe, the five comedians who call themselves ManiPedi have already played three big national comedy festivals.

In light of her exclusive area performance at the Keswick Theater, the first woman to ever star in her own Broadway show gave PW a ringy-dingy to talk comedy, love and breaking into the business by playing Kitty Genovese in a re-enactment scene for an unaired documentary.

Besides being the only exclusively local comedy festival, broken up into eight half-hour blocks, each of the nightly performances will showcase a mix of stand-up, improv, sketch and storytelling. Even better: admission to the nightly smorgasbord of laughs is only $10 while a full festival pass will run you a mere $25.
