Plenty of treats to pick from this party-packed weekend

Other Halloween Happenings

Nearly every downbeach and mainland community has a neighborhood niche with a party going on, and here are just a few.

In Brigantine, St. George’s Pub will host a party starting 9pm Saturday. Cash prizes will be awarded for most original, sexiest and scariest costumes. Judging will take place 11pm, there will be happy hour drink prices 8-10pm, and DJ Howard will entertain. Also in Brigantine, the Laguna Grill Martini Bar will be partying from 7pm-midnight Saturday, and will give prizes for best costume, most original and scariest. There will be a DJ, drink specials and a complimentary light buffet starting 10pm.

In Mays Landing, the 13th annual Testa’s Good Guys Pub party will happen Friday from 10pm-3am. There will be a $300 grand prize for sexiest costume, $150 and $50 secondary prizes, $5 cherry and grape bombs, a DJ dance party from 10pm-2am, and free shuttle service within a 10-mile radius.

In Egg Harbor City, Renault Winery’s Costume Ball will be Friday starting 6:30m with a cocktail reception, $2 drink specials during a Haunted Happy Hour, DJ music and dancing, and prizes for best costumes. A $35 per-person cost includes dinner with several “ghoulmet’ creations.

Fred & Ethel’s Lantern Light Tavern in Smithville will have a party Friday night, 8pm-midnight, that includes live entertainment by the Young Guns, prizes for best costumes, and drinks specials.

La Hacienda in Galloway will be partying Saturday night with live music by the Jeez Band, and prizes for most original, scariest and funniest costumes.

Charlie’s Bar in Somers Point will host a pumping carving contest Thursday (Oct. 29, 8-10pm), and a Halloween party Saturday starting 9pm with a DJ and cash prizes.

Maynard’s Café in Margate will host a mischievous milestone birthday for owner Steve Troiano on Friday starting 4:30pm, and will have a costume party Saturday night.
