Christmas with Charlie Prose

Charlie Prose has performed a Christmas show in Atlantic City for two decades

Prose is also happy that the show, while updated, hasn’t changed much through the years.

“In this time of downsizing, I don’t want to change a thing,” he says. “I still want my back-up singers with me and the orchestra. And I want the same humor I’ve always done. We talk about life and marriage and even sex, but with no dirty words. People appreciate that I do a very clean, family friendly show.”

Most of all, they expect Prose to help them welcome in the holidays and for this year’s show, he is coming home in more ways than one. Prose eventually moved his Christmas show to other casino venues than Trump Plaza, so this year’s performance is a return to where he started.

“That makes it all very special to me,” he says. “Trump Plaza feels very much like home to me. One of the best-selling videos I ever did was at Trump Plaza [An Evening with Charlie Prose]. In fact it’s still selling.”

And so is the Charlie Prose Christmas Show; an Atlantic City institution that, if Prose has his way, will be with us for years to come.

“I’d like to do a 50th anniversary show one day,” he laughs. “That would just be wonderful.”

“I first heard you on the bus to AC. I bought a dvd and have enjoyed it over and over again. My grandson 17 years old heard it one night and fell in love with it. I thought a kid that age wouldn'd identify with you. But he loved it and watches it often. He does a great impression of you with the toot ta root and other scenes. He loves you. Need some more dvd's and an autographed photo of you. God bless you Charlie you fill a void in our lives.
