Here’s a look at the schedule for the 17th Annual Pop Lloyd Weekend

Friday, Oct. 2:

Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Sports Symposium, 9am.

Speakers include:

• (9-9:15am) Belinda Manning, Pop Lloyd Committee president

• (9:15-10am) Jerry Izenberg, Star Ledger columnist and author of Through My Eyes

• (10-10:45am) Glenn Stout, author of From Highlands to History among many sports books

• (10:45-11:30am) Peter Golenbock, author of Jackie & Monte among numerous sports books

• (12:15-1:30pm) Monte Irvin, Former Negro League and MLB great.

 

Saturday, Oct. 3

• Annual “Pop” Lloyd Dinner & Awards Program Honoring Veteran Negro League Players

Trump Taj Mahal, 6pm.

 

Sunday, Oct. 4

• “Pop” Lloyd Commemorative Church Service - Historic Asbury United Methodist Church, 1213 Pacific Ave., A.C., 10am

• “Baseball & Jazz: The Art of Wayne Manns” - Atlantic City Art Center, Garden Pier, 2pm
