>>Porn Again

The Dirty Found Outreach Program

Thurs., May 10, 8pm. Free. Vox Populi, 319 N. 11th St., third fl. 215.238.1236. www.dirtyfound.typepad.com

You know that dank, rotting, leaf-mold-stained copy of Hustler you found in the woods when you were 10 and you've kept ever since in the hope that one day "found porn" would become a respectable art form? Your time has come. And there are plenty of other weird sons of bitches willing to share their raunchy discoveries with you. If you're intrigued by other people's sexual escapades, come celebrate street voyeurism with Dirty Found, a magazine to which people like you submit found porn pictures, naughty love notes and the ubiquitous (and always enjoyable) drawings of genitalia. The magazine's release party features PowerPoint presentations of the year's filthiest finds, and you're encouraged to bring your own found-porno treasures. Whether you show up with a huge stash or empty-handed, this perverse gathering is sure to be a perfect climax to your long, hard, throbbing day. Adults only. Duh. (Marina Ovetsky)

>>Book Worm

Elmore Leonard and Chuck Palahniuk

Thurs., May 10, 7pm. Free. Free Library, 1901 Vine St. 215.567.4341. www.library.phila.gov

Face it--books ain't cool. We're calling on PW readers to change that. This week the Free Library hosts two of the best living American authors. Elmore Leonard, the "Dickens of Detroit," has elevated the crime genre with his amazing ear for dialogue. He's in town to preview his new novel Up in Honey's Room, a WWII-era story that continues the adventures of super-cool gunslinger Carl Webster. While Leonard entertains, Chuck Palahniuk horrifies. The Fight Club writer continues his exploration of the dark side with Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey--a history of a naturopathic serial killer. Novels are the new blogs. Books are the new laptops. There's a revolution coming. Move over, Perez Hilton. (Jack Schonewolf)

>>The Kid Dunny Good

Tattoo Dunny Release Party

Fri., May 11, 7-10pm. Free. Jinxed Clothing, 620 S. Fourth St. 215.978.5469. www.jinxedclothing.com

Designer toys, tattoo artists, DJs, beer and art (by tattoo artists)--these are a few of our favorite things. Why should New York get all the uber-trendy designer-toy joint-release parties? Jinxed is holding a release party of its own for Philly tattoo artist Dave Fox, whose work has been featured as part of KidRobot's Tattoo Dunny series of 3-inch designer toys. The Dunny is like a blank canvas artists can customize. KidRobot then cranks out a couple hundred and sells them to collectors and eBay speculators alike. Tattoo Dunny is KidRobot's latest series of increasingly trendy vinyl toys, and features designs by tattoo artists from all over. The production runs are ridiculously limited, but Jinxed will have a handful available for purchase, as well as new paintings from Dave Fox and Old City Tattoo artist Josh Hoffman. There'll also be beer and a rooftop set from DJ Opalrock. Now you've got an excuse to get drunk and play with toys. (Ken Groninger)

>>Red-nosed Reign of Terror

Carnivolution

Fri., May 11, 8pm. $7. Tiberino Museum, 3819 Hamilton St. 215.386.3784

There are three types of clowns: the ones--like John Wayne Gacy and the psycho-bozos from Killer Klowns From Outer Space--that scare the crap out of you, and the jolly, custard-pie-flinging, tiny-car-driving, huge-shoe-wearing, red-nosed circus clowns and children's entertainers--who also scare the crap of you. And then there are the punk clowns. West Philly's Jelly Boy the Clown and his ragtag band of sideshow freaks are taking the art of clowning back to its street-performance roots. Carnivolution, the troupe's bizarre variety show, combines classic feats like sword swallowing and fire breathing with revolting Jackass-type stunts like snapping mousetraps on tongues, hammering nails through noses and walking across broken beer bottles. It's topped off with the Frank Zappa-esque weirdness of musical act Hydrogen Jukebox (fronted by a clown, of course). One part sicko performance art, one part gutter-punk dance party, Carnivolution ensures your nightmares will never be the same. Unless you have nightmares about clowns with mousetraps on their tongues. In which case they will be. (Miles Britton)
