Sat., Oct. 25, 8pm. $12. 941 Theater, 941 N. Front St. 215.235.5603. www.941theater.com
Oct. 25 is World Zombie Day, and Philadelphians will be shambling around the city in their fetid thousands in at least three different zombie walks, clutching cans or bags of foods they'll donate to Philabundance (presumably in exchange for brains). The zombies that survive the attentions of locals armed with handguns and baseball bats (go for the head) will gather at 941 Theater for a brace of in-your-ripped-off-face-and-down-your-geysering-neck-stump-like-an- intestine-hungry-zombie-on-speed splatter flicks, including the interactive Slumber Party Slaughterhouse: The Game, which, through on-screen multiple choice questions, tests the audience's knowledge of horror movies to help its undead nerd hero, Paul Tard, kill a bunch of future Republicans. The fetid cherry on this rancid cake is the appearance of San Francisco necrotic "dance splatter theater" zombie go-go-gore troupe the Living Dead Girlz who'll perform their new single "Brains." Which is just like the viral hit "Shoes." Except with brains. As in "these brains rule, but these brains suck." And so forth. Terrific fun. And the beer's free.
