"Giant Dwarf began in 2003 when I was living in Portland, Ore. I needed a winter hat, so I made one using techniques from ReadyMade magazine. I wore the one that I made and instantly began getting requests around town. Now I create one-of-a-kind accessories that can't be found anywhere else in the world. I'm kind of fighting mass production with every item I make. Pretty much everything I make is from recycled materials. Color and texture is key. The color wheel is a mystery to me but I think I use color in a unique and smart way. I'm self-taught. This is a self-operated business. I do everything and I take pride in that. If I'm not creating something, I'm not really happy. It's automatic. It's like breathing to me. I wake up in the morning and the first thing I think about is color. I believe that it's in our nature to create. It's my life. I'll never give it up."
