"I'm self taught. I just really like to sew. Five years ago my housemate inherited her grandmother's old Singer and I got really into it. We started going to thrift stores and looking for different fabrics and things to cut up and re-work. I would try to make clothing but everything would turn out either 2 feet too big or 7 inches too small, so I switched to bags. Living in the city you're always trying to find something that's comfortable but also attractive and functional. I try to mix different patterns and textures together. If I find something that looks interesting to me, whether it's a yard of fabric or a button I really like, I create a bag around it. It's just me designing everything, cutting everything, sewing everything, prepping everything, packaging and shipping everything. I've sent stuff to Greece and Australia. Eventually a little storefront with a studio in the back would be a dream, but for now I'm happy with the success I've had."
