"I started when I was 6 with a magic set. It's a common story. I started getting more serious when I was 10, and I did my first birthday party--for a 9-year-old. I ended up being one of the richer kids on the block. I didn't think of it as reinvestment, but most of my money went to the magic shop. Then I got a job at one. The owner was really a comedian and you had to develop a quick wit to hang out with him. We always talked about putting up a chalkboard in back to count the number of guys who walked in and asked, 'Hey, can you make my wife disappear?' The bulk of what I do now is school assemblies. Using comedic magic to connect with kids and deliver an educational message is what I feel like I was born to do."
