Tricks

The Great Holtzie

by Alli Katz & Michael Persico

The Great Holtzie

www.thegreatholtzie.com

“I used to be a headhunter for the computer industry. I wore a suit every day. But I’ve always loved kids; I have a connection with them. There are always lame, creepy clowns at birthday parties—you’d want to check their hard drive to make sure there’s nothing incriminating. So I thought, what about being a stand-up comedian for kids? They like self-effacing humor. They like when I do bald jokes. I also do a couple of really lame magic tricks. It’s all to get to the punch line. I had a jack-in-the box with a squirty thing. A little girl wanted to see it, so I opened it and squirted her. She ran off and came back with a juice box and sprayed me, and—I should be punched for this—said, ‘Don’t squirt me; this sweater’s cashmere.’”
