Described as: Tartit’s sound is often lumped under the term “African blues,” a marketing cliche that has long since become tiresome and
doesn’t remotely apply.

At a glance: Tartit is a band of desert nomads, so they couldn’t hire a competent artist to make a good album cover. Although we have
to look at the band’s terrible cover, we don’t have to live in the fucking desert, so it evens out.

Described as: Animal Collective guitarist Deakin describes the band’s eighth album as “chiseled” and “shiver-inducing.”

At a glance: Look, people. You have to actually make an album cover. You can’t just vomit your dinner and take a photo of it and think
it’s going to move units. Is it really too much to ask for bands to have at least some sense of graphic design? I’m going
to throw up.
